Your community is a great resource for making your Girl Scout experience incredible! But it isn't always easy to find the resources you need. Whether you are looking for experiences to complete badges, participate in community service or just for fun, it can be difficult to know who to contact. Leaders, we all have skills that we bring to the table and resources of our own. If you have any additional contacts you'd like to share with others, please let us know. We'd love to have an expanded, comprehensive list here for everyone's use.
Outdoor and High Risk Adventures with your troop
Our area offers lots of opportunities for girls to explore the outdoors and challenge themselves with high risk activities. Remember to make sure you have completed all necessary trainings and paperwork before heading out! See the Outings & Travel tab for more information.
Los Flores Ranch Park
Owned by the city of Santa Maria, LFRP is host to many free and family friendly events. It is available for hiking and mountain biking. Contact them for community service or take action projects. |

La Purisima Mission
Located in near Lompoc, south of Santa Maria, La Purisima is a great place for a day trip with your troop. 4th grade troops can earn the mission patch. |
Lopez Lake
Located 35 minutes north of Santa Maria. Lopez has camping, hiking, kayaking and swimming on the lake. You can also visit Mustang Water Slides or try your hand at ropes course and zip line at Vista Lago |
Archery
Our Service Unit Day Camp offers archery every year. You can also look for archery opportunities on the GSCCC website. The city of Santa Maria also offers archery opportunities through Los Flores Ranch Park. |

Ravine Water Park
Located in Paso Robles, this is a great place for an end-of-year party or just some summer troop fun. The Ravine is sometimes used as a cookie incentive, so be aware if you are planning a trip. Your girls could earn it! |

Great place to take your troop if they are working on an art badge or for an end of the year party. Private classes are available. |
Joann Fabrics and Crafts
Your troop can take a class to learn to sew or do a craft. Joann's provides discounts for Girl Scouts. |

STEM Opportunities for your troop
Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum
Younger girls can discover all things STEM at the Discovery museum. There is a Maker Space connected to the museum that girls can use. |
